In second grade, Drew was required to write a book about snow. Please enjoy the following excerpt:
Chapter: Snow Gear
Snowpants are like overalls. Boots are like shos. But warmer. And you proble know what a hat is.
“Mom, if #2 pencils are really that great, why are they #2?” -Drew
At breakfast this morning, Drew said he wanted to see the State Capital.
So against Chris’ better judgement, here we are! What a good daddy….
Scene: Morning drop off at school.
Mom: Drew gimme a kiss I gotta go.
Drew: Mom, can we do this in the hallway?
It begins…. 😭😭😭😭
Hold him a little longer,
Rock him a little more,
Tell him another story (you’ve only told him 4),
Let him sleep on your shoulder,
Rejoice in his happy smile,
He is only a little boy for such a little while. 💙

Me: Whatcha doin’ buddy?
Drew: Mom, I’m building a car that uses salt water for gas and I DON’T NEED YOUR HELP.
Mommy: So Drew was your first day awesome?!
Drew: It was only a half day mom. *eye roll*
Mommy: At least tell me 3 things that are different between first grade and kindergarten.
Drew: Number 1. I have my own desk.
Number 2. The carpet is different.
Number 3. Mr Collison is a boy and Mrs Conforti is a girl.
Well, I guess I did ask! Haha
